Is the composer of this song Harry T. Burleigh? I played this piece when I started piano lessons years ago and the title reminds me of a famous mansion The Breakers on Newport, Rhode Island. I wish my piano teacher had given me some insight on where this piece comes from because this composition reflects melancholy and nostalgia reminiscent of waves crashing on the shorelines and it is so hauntingly beautiful.

I just bought another because I loved the music so much. I don't know if it was his from his childhood or if he was teaching someone else from it. I miss him and this is kind of a link to him.

Schaum thought the 2 tunes used in this medley were written for Beethoven's students. I have read that "Elise" could have been any of at least 3 different people--and most classical music scholars doubt that Gertrude's Dream Waltz is even a Beethoven composition!

This is the song that made my nephew fall in love with the piano. I used to play this. It was about the only thing I could play. I had to look this up because we lost him in April. He had all the musical talent that I wished I'd had. I showed him piano and he became the player I wished I could've been. Miss you, Dor.
